For questions, route problems, ideas and anything about drivelamp+. If a route went somewhere it shouldn't have, say where you started, where you were going and roughly when, and we'll run it again.
drivelamp+ and your subscription
- To cancel: in drivelamp, open Settings and choose Manage subscription, then Cancel Subscription. Or in your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. drivelamp+ stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- On a new iPhone: open Settings in drivelamp and tap Restore purchases. It finds drivelamp+ on the same Apple Account.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- The free first drive: your first drive includes everything in drivelamp+. Nothing is charged and nothing renews afterwards.
Common questions
Will my route ever include a road I switched off?
Only when there's no other way there, or when the map doesn't know what a road is. When a route still has something you avoid, the route preview says so before you start, for example “1 roundabout” or “2 km of highway”. Read it, and rehearse the drive if you'd like to see where.
Where do the places to pull over come from?
From OpenStreetMap: gas stations, surface parking lots, rest areas and highway services. Garages are left out on purpose, and so are places mapped as private. They cover the United States and Canada. A place can still be closed or full when you get there, so only stop where it's safe and allowed.
What happens when I tap Stop?
The voice takes you to the nearest safe place to pull over on your way. When you're stopped, you can take a few minutes, call someone you added under People to call, carry on to where you were going, or have drivelamp plan a calm route home.
Does drivelamp work without signal?
Planning a route needs a connection. Once a drive has started, the voice, the turns and the places to stop keep working without signal. With drivelamp+, a saved route can be started and driven with no signal at all.
Where does drivelamp work?
In the United States and Canada, on iPhone and on CarPlay. The app speaks English, French and Spanish. The four drivelamp voices speak English; in French and Spanish your iPhone's own voice guides you.
Does it work with CarPlay?
Yes, with drivelamp+. Your first drive includes it. A drive that started on the car's screen is never closed partway through.
Is drivelamp a treatment for driving anxiety?
No. drivelamp plans calmer routes and helps you prepare, and many people find that makes driving easier. It isn't therapy or medical advice. If fear of driving is affecting your life, a doctor or a licensed therapist can help, and your drive journal is there to share with them if you'd like.
How do I delete my data?
drivelamp has no account. What it remembers, like your routes, your journal, the roads you know and the people to call, is on your iPhone, and deleting the app deletes it. The privacy policy says what our server sees and how long it keeps it.
